What is it?
The Stellar M22™ treatments enable Dr. Monique S. Cohn, DO FAOCD to effectively treat spider veins, broken capillaries and rosacea with intense pulsed light energy to effectively target these small vascular conditions and cause fading and disappearance.
What should I expect?
This unique IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology gently and effectively eliminates dark spots, discolorations, and unwanted blood vessels.
When will I see results?
In many cases, improvement is seen immediately after treatment – full clearance might take several weeks as they slowly fade away and become absorbed into your body. In most cases, 2-3 sessions in 6-8 weeks intervals may be needed.
What can I expect after treatment?
Immediately following treatment, darkening of the vessels will be apparent, with slight redness and swelling along the vessel. And, you should be able to continue with your normal activities immediately.
How does it work?
Vascular technology
The IPL device creates heat inside the blood vessels, which closes the vein’s walls, eventually causing the vein to be absorbed and disappear. The laser is very precise and only impacts the selected blood vessel and none of the surrounding skin. The IPL filter also targets the blood only and none of the surrounding skin. Lumenis technologies enable cooling of your skin between pulses, which reduces the chance of skin damage, producing great results.
The treatment
Just before treatment, Dr. Monique S. Cohn, DO FAOCD will apply a thin layer of clear gel onto the treatment area. During treatment, she will treat the targeted veins by applying a few pulses on each blood vessel source. The treatment will take between 10-20 minutes, depending on the number of blood vessels being treated. During the treatment you may experience a stinging or burning sensation, but it is very tolerable for most patients.
Is IPL right for me?
Stellar M22™ treatments are not suitable for everyone and may carry some risks. Stellar M22™ vascular treatments are not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions, skin cancer, or deep or large veins (Dr. Cohn may recommend Sclerotherapy for that). Risks may include: redness, swelling, change of pigmentation and scarring.

Be vein-free and carefree

Laser or IPL penetrate the deep layers and heat the blood in the vessels, coagulating it.

The SapphireCool™ lightguides cool the skin during treatment.
