If you need a refill on a medication recently prescribed by our office, please contact your pharmacy and have them fax our office a refill request (330-963-7900 fax). This is the fastest and most accurate way of processing refills. If approved by our medical staff, it can usually be done in two business days or less.
Please understand, we must follow Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and Ohio State Medical Board guidelines. This means under some situations your medications cannot be refilled. The following rules and regulations apply to our prescription refills:
Patients must have been seen in the office at least twice before refills can be done. We cannot re-fill a prescription after only one initial visit.
Topical medications may be refilled if the patient has had a follow-up visit in the office during the previous 6 months.
Oral medications may be refilled if the patient has had a follow-up visit in the office during the previous 3 months.
Special circumstances may require that blood work or other testing be done, dosages be adjusted, or medication interaction be checked prior to any refill.
Patients who fall outside these guidelines can reschedule for a follow up visit and get prescriptions refilled in the office where we can update medical histories, review tests and conduct an exam.
